| DPS - Death Pact Society
DPS is a democratically governed, lifetime membership, territorial hunting guild, for levels 30 and up.
In essence, who we are is a leaderless group of players, who are dedicated more to the hunt, and to the guild, then to our own personal gain.
It is our mission as a guild, to provide every single one of our members, with the absolute best gear we can, in order to better ourselves as a unit.
Although we are not a PvP based guild, our dedication to the hunt, and to the glory of our guild, dictates that we fight to protect what is ours, at all costs. This includes not only our members, but also our hunting grounds. That being said we will attack (and kill, and loot if necessary) any player who attempts to hunt in any area, we are actively hunting in, at any given time. Along with this, if any outsider attacks one of our members, it is every available person's duty to come to their aid, no matter what the personal risk.
As far as drops go, it is in our belief that gear should be distributed to those who can use it, to the best advantage of the guild as a whole. For example, if we had a +3 mas dropped on a guild hunt, no one member, would have any right to it. It would go to the person most qualified to wield it, and all other gear would be distributed down the line, in the same fashion, until every one of us, is in the best gear (suited to us), that we are able to provide. The way we will decide on which members are most qualified, will be based not only on levels, but also on merit within the guild, and time spent active. If there is any contention as to who is most qualified to receive any single piece of gear, it will be voted on by the Council of Elders.
The Council of Elders, will consist of the first 5 Founding members of the guild, to start. Then any member that has been actively tagged for over a month, may ask to be considered for Council. In such a case the five founders (plus any additional Council members at that point in time), will put the matter to a vote. All basic matters should be resolved by first an agreement of those involved, and failing that, a vote of all online members. If contention remains after a simple vote, and in any matters that affect the guild as a whole, the vote must be passed on to the CoE. In the case that the CoE can`t come to a unified decision (and only in that case) the matter must then be passed on to the eldest of the active Five Founders, and in that case, their decision will be final.
What lifetime membership means to us, is that once you are in, you are in for life. If any full-fledged DPS member intentionally detags. Not only will we KoS that member forever, but we will actively hunt them down and loot them whenever possible. DPS is a dedication for the lifetime of that character, not the player. If you delete the character that was in the guild, we will hold no grudge on any of your other characters. If you are absolutely NOT working out in the guild, you may be involuntarily detaged, based on a vote by the CoE. In this case we will not go out of our way to hunt you down, but you will still be KoS, for a time deemed fit, by your ex guildmates. Every starting member however, will have a one-week probation period, in which they will not be distributed high level items, and will not have a vote in any matters. During the probationary period, you may detag, or be voted out by the CoE, with no KoS order. However, all prospective DPS members must relinquish to the CoE, one +3 or better weapon with a minimum of 50 dps, to even become a probationary member. We believe that this is the only way to prove your dedication to the guild, and to also weed out trolls, turncoats, and troublemakers.
DPS will work on the trust system as far as loots are concerned. But if you are EVER proven to have been dishonest with your guild, severe disciplinary action will be decided by the CoE. That being said, no player is required to claim, or turn in any piece of gear +2 or less (they are however encouraged to distribute any gear in a manner that will most benefit the guild, and/or the benefit of new players. Any gear +3 and up (regardless of level) must be claimed for the purpose of distribution to the most qualified team member. If on the occasion that there is no member qualified (or interested) to equip said gear, it then either goes into the guild bank until someone is qualified for it, or it will be sold/traded, for the betterment of the guild.
As this guild is truly democratic, none of these are set in stone rules. Moreover, they are guidelines based on the dream of ASoul, our first and eldest founding member. Although these are the foundations that our guild will be based upon, the CoE may decide to repair, replace, or even remove ANY of the guidelines written here (so long as it is in dedication to the hunt, and the glory of DPS).
We are DPS, DPS is the HUNT!
At this point in time DPS is only a proposed society. No such guild or even tag exists yet.
If you would like to help make this dream a reality, and become one of the Five Founders...
You can PM me (ASoul) here, or find me in game and we can talk about making this happen.
I will however tell you right now that to become one of the Founding Five, you will be expected to prove your vested interest, by not only covering one fifth of the cost for a guild tag (100,000 gold each), but in also making the pilgrimage to obtaining the guild deed as a group. No gold will be expected from you up front, we will make the journey ONLY when we have five of us dedicated to the dream of DPS, and will only put forth the gold as a team, in the moment before we obtain our tag.
PS. Founding Five Members are exempt from offering a +3 or better, minimum 50 dps weapon, as they have already proven their dedication, in funding and questing for the DPS tag (may it be ever forth worn with pride, and carried in honor!
